First it is smaller than a zoo. You walk up and down very steep hills. Most of the animals are free and walk right up to you. Watching your little ones feed Bambie is too cute. I go here whenever I'm in town.

We loved the Yellow River Game Ranch. Our kids (7 and 5) were studying habitats and the Yellow River Game Ranch was the perfect deciduous forest excursion. The kids saw all of the animals we had been studying: deer, bobcats, black bears, rabbits, wolves, etc. Many of the animals are quite tame. In fact, a small doe followed my daughter all day because she was giving her a steady supply of apples. You are allowed to feed and interact with most of the animals, which makes this place super fun for kids. The fact that you can bring food from home for the animals is a great money saver, which makes parents happy too. We will surely go to the Yellow River Game Ranch again.
