The Witte Museum is a favorite for my homeschool group and my family! Their special exhibits are wonderful. Both my boys loved Dinosaurs Unearthed. We are gearing up to visit the special Back Yard Monsters exhibit and explore the world of BUGS!

The HEB Science Tree House is fabulous! So many different avenues to explore science while having a blast!

We bought a family membership to the Witte last year and used it often. While there are exhibits for all ages, my boys loved the HEB treehouse the best. They recently changed the exhibits inside to a health and fitness theme, which is very interactive. The best tool there though, is Victor, the autopsy table. You can see all the systems of the body, in this user friendly tool. It is meant to look like he is lying down on an autopsy table (minus the blood and yucky stuff). You can search the body by system, (skeletal, digestive, etc) and also cut areas into cross section for more detail. This was a great way to reinforce learning about the body systems.
Besides the inside learning, there is also an outside path where you can bike across a tightrope, climb a rockwall, see the river and learn about its inhabitants, and more. I highly recommend the Witte for family outings and homeschool fieldtrips.
