|Located at the Agricultural Education Center, the museum contains more than 2,500 artifacts. The Rural Heritage Museum currently houses over twenty-six exhibits depicting early rural life in Washington County. Exhibits include: an early Conestoga wagon which traveled the National Road from Baltimore to Wheeling; a country store on loan from the Washington County Historical Society; buggies, wagons, and sleighs; three rooms furnished in the manner of a Victorian era farm house; horse-drawn plows and harvesters; farm tools including dairying and butchering equipment; and much more! As part of the museum's ongoing growth, a small log cabin has been restored and a one-and-a-half story log home is also on the site. The museum is heated and air-conditioned and there is ample free parking for cars and buses.
