Facility:Virginia Living Museum
Description:Virginia's natural heritage comes alive through living exhibits that encompass all the state's geographic regions from the mountains to the ocean. Each exhibit tells a story. There is the predator-prey relationship between the chipmunk and the corn snake; the survival adaptations of the flounder and puffer fish; the endangered status of the once plentiful sturgeon, and the geological changes that have created caves.
From the Coastal Plain Gallery to the Underground Gallery, to the Discovery Center, Observatory, Planeterium and more, you wil surely be intrigued as you explore them all.

We visited here on our last vacation. We loved it. Our kids were so excited to see the fish and turtles in the huge aquariums. They also really enjoyed the outdoor animal exhibits, especially the otters and the wolves. It was somthing the kids couldn't get enough of.

We have been to this museum several times and have really enjoyed it. They have a small planetarium which is perfect for first timers. The outdoor exhibits are well kept and their staff is very friendly.

We visited here as an ASTC member and it was great. Looking forward to going back and trying one of their homeschool day programs.

Wonderful place to visit with the kids. It's our local "Go-To" field trip, so we usually buy a yearly membership.

They have a large assortment of activities and displays inside for the kids. The activities are interactive, yet educational. The aquariums are pretty expansive and the outdoor nature trail is wonderful on a sunny day. There is always plenty to do here.

If the weather is nice, plan on packing lunches for everyone, as they have benches and tables outside the front of the building meant for picnics.
