The Salt Museum at Onondaga Lake Park |
Part of Syracuse, NY history. This is why the city was named "Salt City." Plainly presented displays trace the history of salt extraction. The exhibits are housed in a building constructed from portions of some of the old salt warehouses. The museum is free to visit. You can download a self guided tour from the website. The surrounding park grounds make the day visit fun as well as educational. |
