This is a nice size museum for Macon. They have changing exhibits year round in the four galleries and also offer educational programs for the kids. My daughter has attended educational programs with Girl Scouts and as a homeschooler.

Giant insects are the focus currently and will continue through October 10, 2010.

They have the Discovery House with hands-on activities, live animal habitats, the Mark Smith Planetarium, an observatory, nature trail, garden, small gift store, auditorium and classrooms. You can view the skies across Macon once a month for free). It begins at 8:00p.m. and helps you identify planets and constellations visible in the Middle Georgia area. Tours of the Mini-Zoo are presented daily along with planetarium shows, which feature new astronomical topics every two months.

Hours of Operation are:
Tuesday - Saturday:
10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday:

We love the museum of arts and sciences. They change themes periodically so be sure to check back often... you will be likely to find something for all ages. Extremely helpful staff! Make a day of it and check out events at Macon Little Theatre right next door.
The Museum of Arts and Sciences utilizes multiple educational methods to be sure to effectively teach any learning style. Hands on and interactive stations for many of the exhibits.
The well known Festival of Trees exhibit is on display November 13 through January 2, 2011. The trees are designer-decorated and quite attractive.
The World of Giant Insects exhibit was great!
