The Butterfly House is a year-round available field trip. Inside the dome where the walk-through butterfly garden is located is a constant 81 degrees making it perfect for a winter warm up or bearable in the summertime. Located on a peaceful small man-made lake, a walk through the Butterfly House is peaceful. Bring your camera as there's plenty of photo ops for both butterfly pictures and pictures of your children enjoying the house. March is a great time to go as the rare blue morpho butterfly is active and visible. Be sure to stay for the short movie at the end or beginning of your visit as it tells a lot of information about butterflies. The Butterfly House also offers classes throughout the year for a small fee. And, the grounds of the Butterfly House is perfect for picnicking or playing on the playground when the weather is nice. For an added treat, bring an extra dollar along per child as next door is a Worlds Fair Carousel that is a nice end-of-the-day treat.

This was a very fun day for my daughter and my self. The butterfly dome is busting at the gills with so many different butterflies. We had many land on us giving us great photo ops! They also had drawing paper and markers on a drawing board for the kids inside the butterfly garden. They have a gift shop.

We were amazed at all the beautiful butterflies. It was worth the trip.

Fun, but small. You couldn't spend all day here! They seem to be making it harder for older kids to find something to do for long. Great for littler ones to play.

Butterflies are beautiful, but also quite a few insects to look at as well. A nice park is just outside for a nice picnic and play before or after your visit.
