We LOVE the aquarium. Between the butterfly enclosure, petting the stingrays, sharks, and sturgeon, to the penguins, it's hard to pick favorites. They are very homeschool friendly and have classes and homeschool days. If you want to tour both buildings, be prepared to do quite a bit of walking. Lots of places to sit down, but bathrooms are a little hard to find. We go often and never get tired of it.

The TN Aquarium is fantastic! If you live in the area a family membership is well worth the cost. There are two different buildings, and it can take a while to tour both. If you need a break in between there are various restaurants nearby. Be sure not to miss the jellyfish, seahorses, sea otters, butterflies, sharks, and of course petting the stingrays. It's a wonderful family day you won't soon forget!

Even though this is a bit of a drive for us, we enjoy visiting the aquarium as a family. It is large and takes an entire day to get through with younger kids, but there is so much to see and experience it is well worth the time.

The butterfly exhibit is my personal favorite. The chance to be that close to butterflies is a huge hit with my kids and the exhibits on the life cycle of the butterfly is so educational. We also love just browsing through the different tanks. There is plenty of good information on the signs, and we have learned a lot on visits (like that male seahorses give birth to the babies) just from browsing at our own pace.

Another plus is that the aquarium is situated in such a wonderful family friendly section of town, with plenty of eateries, lots of great views of the river, and places for the kids to run around and let off steam.
It is a great day trip!

Our kids love this trip! We buy a family membership each year! We really enjoy the feeding time and how informative the divers can be. The children have enjoyed the touch tanks and the fountains out front to play in on hot summer days. The Riverfront in Chattanooga has a lot to offer and the aquarium is one of our favorite places to start new science lessons. They are learning so much about fresh water and salt water animals, even my 2 year old is entertained and happy.

My family & I can never say enough about wonderful this place is! Every time we go, we learn something new! We love how they always have people around to help answer your questions. Our favorite exhibits are the penguins, butterflies, coral wreaths, & jellyfish! Our family always comes home wanting to look up more information & learn something new about their favorite animals!

We went to the Tennessee Aquarium when we were visiting family in the area. It is by far one of the best aquariums I've been to! My daughter absolutely loves penguins and being able to see them up close was the highlight of her visit. I also loved the hands-on experience of petting sting rays and touring the butterfly exhibit. We hope to go again some day.
