|Facility:||Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Center for the Visual Arts|
|Description:||Presenting exhibitions of contemporary art of national and international caliber, encouraging serious but adventuresome learning through visual art and creating opportunities for student involvement in the planning and execution of exhibitions - the Rubin Center does it all. Three distinct gallery spaces include the Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Gallery, a 1,900 square feet designed for larger-scale artwork and sculpture, the L-Gallery, designed for more intimate framed art and smaller pieces, and the Project Space, reserved primarily for advanced UTEP art students and El Paso-based artists that are either launching their careers or establishing a new direction in their work.
The Rubin Center also acts as a showcase for the work of visiting artists who are internally recognized, or on the verge of such recognition. The shows presented are an exciting mix of the known and the up and coming. Past visiting artists have included Enrique Chagoya, Eddie Dominguez, Jean Lowe, Joyce J. Scott.
