We visited and found that the imaginNation activity center was closed. The exhibits weren't as extensive as I expected and we did not see anyone working in the building who was a native American. Maybe we were there on a slow day - an events day may be the time to visit, and plan for a half day at most. The cafeteria was good.

We enjoyed this Smithsonian museum. My children are all under 8, so the children's imagiNATIONS exhibit was their favorite part. They enjoyed listening to native storytime and trying out all of the very interactive displays. We walked through the rest of the museum fairly quickly. My children enjoyed seeing some of the artifacts, but much of the information was a little over their heads. This museum is much less crowded than other Smithsonian museums, so getting around is easy.
