|Facility:||Museum of Western Colorado|
|Description:||Check out the new displays! They have two new exhibits that feature one-of-a-kind prehistoric pottery from the Colorado Plateau, Navajo rugs, and rock art panels from the Fremont and Ute Indians. Take a stroll down the boardwalk and step back into the early days of Grand Junction and experience the Pastime Saloon and the Park Opera House. Visit the Nelson and Post Saddle Shop with the collection of recently restored 19th Century saddles. Climb into a full-size stagecoach and take an interactive ride. All this and much more make history come alive!
From fossils to man-made artifacts and photographs, this museum captures the region's rich prehistoric past and decades of post-settlement history. The Museum of Western Colorado, which has served this area for more than a quarter of a century, is embarking on a new vision - The Museum of the West, the new name of the Downtown Grand Junction facility. You are invited to become part of their exciting future!
