Facility:MK Nature Center
Description:The Morrison Knudsen Nature Center offers a one-of-a-kind fish and wildlife experience on a 4.6-acre site along the Boise River Greenbelt near downtown Boise. The Nature Center's stream walk and education building provide a glimpse of Idaho's many landscapes and abundant wildlife. The underwater viewing windows along the stream walk give visitors a fish-eye view of the world. The Visitors Center has a few exhibits-animal furs to touch, a local gopher snake, a local salamander, areas to make animal prints in a sandbox and various other small activities. It also has a great sitting are with a large window looking to watch birds. There are several books to identify the local birds. Outside there is a great paved nature walk. It guides you along a stream and the area's 4.6 acre park. Along the way you see several habitats. Also there are great viewing areas for the fish living in the river. They have even built an underwater viewing windows that are wonderful. There are plenty of signs and info along the way to make it a great self tour or you can schedule group tours.
