|Description:||The Mitchell Museum of the American Indian is one of the few museums in the United States focused exclusively on the history, culture and arts of the Native people of the United States and Canada. It promotes public understanding of cultural diversity through first voice perspectives.
Schools, scouts, and other groups can arrange for docent-led tours, which can include storytelling and craft projects, if requested. A library of over 5,000 books and periodicals and a video collection is available for all visitors to use on-site. The museumís programs include lectures and demonstrations by Native American artists and scholars, as well as music and dance performances.
