Facility:Mayfield Dairy Farms (Braselton, GA)
Description:Mayfield Dairy Farms began in 1923 with a few Jersey cows, spring water refrigeration and a family’s dedication to providing the community with quality, great-tasting dairy products. Today, Mayfield has a staff of nearly 2000 employees and serves nine states, continuing a rich heritage of creating progressive innovations and exceptional dairy items.

Surrounded by a big, gracious front porch, the gift shop and ice cream parlor offer a taste of the Mayfield experience that may be followed by a tour. We had a wonderful time on our field trip. We learned how the milk is chosen from farmers, brought in & processed in the plant & why the colored bottles used. Mayfield is very specific in the quality it chooses. After the tour we had a rare treat & met Scottie Mayfield.

Great educational field trip to see how milk is made from the farm to the grocery store. Staff is informative and helpful. First you put on your safety shoes/hat then you watch a movie about Mayfield in the theatre. Then you tour the facility. There is a nice gift shop and the ice cream you get afterwards is delicious. I think the ice cream is free with the admission to the museum but not positive. There is a great place to take a picture with a giant Mayfield cow outside.
