Description:

The Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center provides interpretation of the Hjemkomst Viking Ship, Hopperstad Stave Church Replica, Red River Valley Exhibition and hosts traveling exhibits in 7,000 sq. feet of temporary exhibition space. The interpretive center offers tours, lectures and festivals, hosts residencies and performances and provides educational services.

The Hjemkomst Center offers two permanent exhibits (the Hjemkomst Ship/Story and the Stave Church Replica and Tour). Other temporary exhibits are offered that may or may not be of interest to children. Annual events for all ages are held here, such as the Hjemkomst Festival, which is excellent for all ages and offers a passport for children to complete. Be sure to watch the Hjemkomst video and go on the free (usually hourly) tour of the Stave Church. These are both suited for adults and children age 7+ but all ages are welcome.
