Description:This German settlement was built in 1835, and was one of three settlements founded in the United States by the Utopian Movement which originated in Germany. Germantown Colony grew to become today's Minden, Louisiana. Germantown Colony and Museum includes several original furnished homes and buildings, a visitors center, and cemetery.
