|Description:||Overlooking the Hudson River from the Morningside Heights section of Manhattan, General Grant National Memorial is the largest tomb in North America. Grant's Tomb (as it is commonly called) is not only the final resting place of the General, but a memorial to his life and acomplishments. There is much to do at this Memorial. In addition to paying your respects to the General and his wife, you can take a walking tour of historic Riverside Park, witness a musket firing demonstration and, depending on the season, listen to a jazz concert or take a candlelit tour of the tomb.
Living history demonstrations offered about the Mexican American War and the American Civil War bringing history alive with costumed interpretation and military arts programs, all free of charge.

|Hours:||General Grant National Memorial is open 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, daily.
The site is closed every Thanksgiving Day (3rd Thursday in November, Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year's Day (January 1).
The site has been closed due to inclement weather, such as severe snow storms. In those instances, please call ahead.
