This farm is interesting on several different levels for parents and children. Plan about 3-4 hrs for your visit. You will learn the complete process of how our milk gets "From Grass to Glass" as well as see how the entire milking and feeding operation works. Several times during the day you will have an opportunity to watch a calf being born. It is extremely exciting and usually the crowd bursts into applause once the calf is born.
There is a bus trip to the milking operation that is a few miles down the road. There are many hands-on activities to do in the main building and a 4-D movie that always brings lots of laughs and yells!
If you go during the summer months, there is a play area with a HUGE air pillow to jump on along with several other outdoor activities. This last time we went during the school year and happened to get there the same day as several field trip buses. It is a very large facility, however, so it did not hamper our visit at all.
Before you leave, be sure to get some ice cream or a grilled cheese sandwich made with Fair Oaks Dairy milk and cheese. YUM! We go at least twice a year and we enjoy it every time!
