Great field trip for homeschoolers! The houses and gardens are interesting and the self guided audio tour takes you back in time. The museum is chock full of inventions and history - so much so that you could take a few field trips here and still not see it all. They have homeschool classes monthly except during the summer. Edison was homeschooled so it's a great place to show your children what they can do if they just work hard and let their imaginations take flight.

I take everybody who comes from out of town here. I try to take the tours with the older volunteers because they usually have some story to tell that you don't get from the audio tour. It has wonderful history and is a great trip for anyone who loves the automobile. Firestone had a house here also though it is not included in the name. There is a model T on display.

The gardens are really wonderful. The third largest Banyan tree in North America is on the property.

Great place to visit, especially close to Christmas where it is so beautifully decorated with lights and the weather isn't quite so hot. There is an indoor segment that is tour led featuring many artifacts of Edison's inventions and even some hands on exhibits for the children. Then there is an outdoor tour of the grounds and house that is enjoyable as well. Snacks are available to purchase in their extensive gift shop.

Amazing tour! Just a great trip overall. We got rained/lightening alarms and had to quite mid-tour. They are very strict with their lightening policy. Would like to return someday to finish the tour!
