I like that it is laid out easily. They have the space stuff all together and they have someone around to answer questions, and interact with the kids.
They bring in good exibits (traveling) with people working in the area to answer questions and show how things work.

For example we went and saw Gangus Kan, and they dancers that danced from that time frame. They had people working catapults and showing anyone that were intersted how they worked and practiced shooting them. My daughter really liked all the hands on that they had for the exibit.

I can't say enough good about the DMNS. Parking is easy (and free). The exhibits are interactive and have something for all ages. We had a membership here and the kids never got tired of going. They especially loved the dinosaur exhibit, which alone took us an hour each time we went. If you go in the summer, there's a fountain by the museum where children are allowed to play in the water. We found it to be a nice end to the day.

This one ranks right up there with the Smithsonian. There are floors and floors of exhibits, helpful guides and fun activities set up for the children to play and learn from. We attended the body exhibit while we were there and my eleven year old learned a lot and still talks about the difference between a smokers lungs and vessels in comparison to a non smoker. It was an awesome museum.

One of our favorites! There is always something new to learn about. Always someone ot ask or somethingto interract with. Its a very hands on type of place for a lot of the exhibits. They also bring in some of the best traveling exhibits. They also have classes for children and adults. My kids love going and we are members.

This museum always seem to have a variety of activities for the kids. I especially like the scavenger hunt forms they have for the animal habitats, as it gets my children really looking at the dioramas. Since we homeschool we can almost always find something that ties into our lessons throughout the year.
