Facility:Creation Museum
Description:The Creation Museum presents a "walk through history". Designed by a former Universal Studios exhibit director, this state-of-the-art 60,000 square foot museum brings the pages of the Bible to life.

A fully engaging, sensory experience for guests. Murals and realistic scenery, computer-generated visual effects, over fifty exotic animals, life-sized people and dinosaur animatronics, Planetarium explaining the Creation of the Cosmos, and a special-effects theater complete with misty sea breezes and rumbling seats. These are just some of the impressive exhibits that everyone in your family will enjoy.

Creation vs evolution, incredible recreations of Adam and Eve in the beautiful Garden of Eden exhibit, dinosaurs and what happened to them, the Noah's ark exhibit, the special programs they have in the theatres - oh my goodness - could go on and on! Reasonably priced - you won't be disappointed!

This is not a place for extremely young children - you really want to have plenty of time to go through and absorb the information and not have to do the "speed museum" tour day. A definite must see museum!

Wow!! A museum that showcases all the things I have been teaching my kids!! It was nice to show my kids that not everyone believes in evolution and the "millions of years ago" theory that we are bombarded with at other museums. I liked the clear way that it showed another view point in addition to what the worldview teaches so we can make our own decision. It did a good job of comparing and contrasting.

The day we visited, the weather was horrible and it caused a major power outage. We weren't able to see the planetarium show or other media exhibits because it knocked out their system.

The only complaint I would have is that I wish there had been more to see and more hands-on stuff for the kids. My kids weren't as interested as we were. I know they are still early in their establishment and I can't wait to see what else they add.

Wonderfully done museum. Animated dinosaurs, a walk through the week of Creation, planetarium, special affects theater. Also, outside- when it is nice, a beautiful garden area and a petting zoo. We spent several days in the area and visited this museum 3 times- it was the place the kids chose to go back to on the last day of our vacation.

I have mixed feelings. Our family has been there 2x. Yes, I like the museum BUT there are not as many dinosaurs as you would think from the advertisements.

As a creationist I applaud the IDEA of a Creation Museum. For a museum meant to reach the unbelievers the price is WAY too high. This museum was built on DONATIONS so I do not see how they can justify the high cost. They are not going to reach those they profess to want to reach.

Even for a large family, it is cost prohibitive as are the products they sell. To add insult to injury the planetarium is extra $, you can only eat your own food OUTSIDE and the food they sell is VERY expensive :( I found the staff to be unfriendly, bordering on rude.

Have been to the museum with the family three times, our home school co-op on a field trip, and escorting a large group of unchurched children at Christmas time.

The museum is very well done, comparing creation and evolution based on where one starts, with the Bible or with 'millions of years'. Great for visual learners. The walk through of Creation week uses the "7 C's of History" (Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe...) There are lots of informational videos throughout the walk, culminating with an amazing video. No one rushes you through, you can go as fast or slow as you want. On all visits we made, the staff was very friendly and eager to help in any way.

The planetarium show is excellent, and I would recommend paying the extra money at least once to see it. The special effects theater is something the kids wanted to see each time we went. The petting zoo is a great outdoor break for families with smaller children and bigger ones alike. The grounds are beautiful, with a large variety of flowers, plants, and trees to investigate. Someone mentioned that there were not a lot of dinosaurs, but they are appropriately placed in and around the museum. There are speakers and activities scheduled on different days - Buddy Davis was there one time we went, and Ken Ham another time.

The prices are reasonable when you compare them to other places (aquariums, children's museums, zoos, etc). Unlike many other places, you can bring in your own food.

* A correction to the days/times closed: The Creation Museum is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Also, they're open Fridays until 9 PM and Petting Zoo open until 8 PM, March September

We drove all the way from Minnesota last fall when the museum had a homeschool discount. The discount was fantastic, about 75% off regular admission and included the planetarium show. I hope they do it again this fall. We especially liked an hour long class for the kids. You can sign up when you get there if they aren't full. You may want to check ahead of time if you go during a busy time. The rest of the museum was very educational. I love being able to take my kids to a museum that doesn't label everything as millions or billions of years old! The gardens are gorgeous. Bring your camera to get that perfect Christmas card photo. The petting zoo is a great idea too. They are opening more exhibits this year so we hope to return.

The Creation Museum is one of the best museums we have been to. It has something for everyone, from the interactive tour to lectures, everyone in our family came away blessed and with much more knowledge then they went there with. The planetarium was amazing, and since we had just finished astronomy... it was a perfect culmination of the term. I would highly recommend everyone to visit the museum at least once, you won't go away disappointed.

Just an added comment regarding the pricing.

Yes, the Creation Museum was built on donations, but they still have operating costs (paying employees, electricity, advertising, etc.) just like Christian radio stations, but the difference is that radio stations do quarterly, semi-annual, and annual fundraising drives.

Wonderful place to reinforce the facts of Creation. Gives you the verbage to stand up against evolution.
God's Truth or Man's Reason?
Many exhibits to see! You will need more than one day to see it all. So plan ahead, don't miss a thing.
Check out: 1. The Walk Through Biblical History. 2. The Dinosaur Den. 3. Natural Selection is not Evolution. 4. Noah's Ark Construction Site (Absolutely LOVED it!!!)

Look on their website for special deals, otherwise can be a bit pricey.
Well worth the trip!

Wow, the Creation Museum was a FANTASTIC learning experience for our entire family. We highly recommend this museum to all families. We were only there one day but we could have stayed a day or 2 longer! Go if at all possible!

This was one of the best field trip experiences we have had. This was awesome for our kids in the earliest grades, and yet we can see how as they come back at different ages, they will glean more and more from different parts of the exhibits. Our kids absolutely loved it. There is so much there to offer. We loved the planetarium, and it stands out more than anything else. It was a mind-blowing reminder of the vastness of space and of our God who has created it. When it was over, I just wanted to stand in awe and worship. Really looking forward to the next time we go!!

I am so glad the Creation Museum exists! The grounds are beautiful, the museum is fun and educational, and the planetarium is amazing. We still talk about the awesome show we saw! They have so many unique opportunities and there really isn't another museum like it.

Our family (with 8 kids aged 1-16 at the time)went for 3 days (drove out there for our family vacation). Family pass was a great deal. We did some of the things together, then split up for some of the things scheduled. There is something for everyone! Be sure to check the schedule before you plan your trip if you are looking for specific events/activities.

Then, before our annual pass expired, I drove out there again with just the younger children. They enjoyed an art class with Buddy Davis, a musical performance by him, and got to meet Ken Ham. That was a great deal for all of us as we have enjoyed our Buddy Davis videos and music cd's and have gone through the Creation video series with Ken Ham.

Petting zoo, watching the fish in the pond, watching the starry night with "Wendy" and that presentation, walking through history, viewing our universe (narrated by one of the voice characters for Mr Whittaker on Adventures in Odyssey). Take several days and enjoy it all!

Our family absolutely LOVED our trip to the Creation Museum. It was enjoyable for the little kids all the way through the adults. So much history and truth and the grounds are beautiful! I can't wait to take our family back again soon.

We really liked this place!I don't think it is really for young young kids, not a lot for them to do. One they can read it is better for them.
Pam. K, Co-op Member
It is really expensive and if you go when it is crowded you can't read about the exhibits and there is a lot of reading.... Mostly reading. My kids were not impressed.
