A day spent at Como Zoo is always a day well spent! This is my favorite Zoo. I appreciate that it is very affordable but even better it has much to offer. It is just the right size and has a nice variety of animals. My kids loved the monkeys the most. My favorite is the Conservatory. My daughter enjoyed taking beautiful photos of the flowers and even my sons appreciated the lush greenery. Hmmm, I think I need to plan another visit. I could use the change of scenery from all this snow....

This zoo makes a great natural sciences field trip. There are animals and a conservancy together, making it fun and educational place to spend a day exploring, learning and having fun.

Well, I'm biased about the Como Zoo, as this is where my husband and I had our first date. And we came to the Conservatory and Park for wedding photos.

But as a field trip, my kids don't much care about all that. What they love is that we can always afford to visit, and that there is always something fun and interesting to do.

This is a great place for a homeschool get-together, and we've done that too - meeting up with a bunch of families and either hanging out together, or wandering off separately.

This is the most wonderful zoo on the planet, and the fact that it is still free to visit is great in these trying economic times. This is a very family friendly place! It is one of the things I miss the most about Minnesota. During the summer they have camps, the animals of course and rides for the kids, also the Sea Lion show which like the zoo is still totally free. Great during the cold winter months because now there so many indoor exhibits in addition to the beautiful conservatory. Their website is well organised and tells you what is happening at the zoo as well as what programs are available; it is updated daily so what is going on is current for the day including hours ( because those do change in the winter months.) If you are visiting St. Paul, Minnesota or if you live in the state and have never been it is definitely worth the trip. Enjoy!
