This is a wonderful field trip! They offer two homeschool days per year, so plan ahead and check the website. Our day consisted of demonstrations with birds of prey and owl pellet dissection (yuck, but informative),crafting and much more.
They have a walking trail and over 25 species of raptors. The center rehabilitates raptors and also offers educational exhibits. Summer camps are available if you're in the area.

This is an outdoor field trip set up similar to a zoo, so plan accordingly for weather and wear sunscreen if needed and comfortable shoes. Strollers and water bottles were allowed when we went, but double check before you go. Do NOT pick up any feathers, etc found on site. It is a FELONY to possess any part of a raptor, so explain this to your kids before you go. Unless you have a service dog, they do not allow pets of any kind.

Note: "Admission is $10 adults
$8 seniors 65+, educators with a valid ID, and active military
$6 for students, including college students with a valid ID
FREE for kids 4 and under

Live Bird Presentations, Meet the Keeper and Trail Trivia Tours, and Vulture Feedings are included in the price of admission. Flight Shows and Behind the Scenes Tours are an additional $5 per person per show, or $7 for both. Check calendar for scheduled times."
