|Facility:||Canadian Museum of Nature|
|Description:||This national natural history museum has both research and educational programs. Although the Museum has embarked on a major renovation project, visitors to the museum can still see such exhibitions as "Creepy Critters,""Plant Life," and Nature's Pharmacy." Several wonderful new galleries are now open! The first phase of the Renewal Project is complete. Because renovations are continuing, about half the museum will remain closed until 2010.
Research at the museum is focused on three broad areas: Earth Sciences, Life Sciences and the Canadian Centre for Biodiversity. The scientific collection contains over 10 million specimens. The museum also houses the National Herbarium and the Biological Survey of Canada. The museum offers ongoing educational programs, workshops and special children's programming.
