This zoo has a wide variety of animals including indoor exhibits. We enjoyed the elephants, monkeys and birds. It was a bit pricey for a family of 7.

Every year we buy a Family Plus pass to Brookfield Zoo. We love, love, love going to the zoo, and for a family of 7 this is the best deal. We rarely go to the zoo by ourselves, so the free passes that come with the pass allows us to treat friends! Why do we like this zoo? As homeschoolers, we are able to go during the week to miss many of the crowds. We ask questions of the zookeepers and docents, and often get to see many extra things because of it! My children have been able to pet stingrays, see polar bear cubs, and feel elephant skin and tusks. We truly enjoy Brookfield Zoo!

We went with the grandparents (who live in the area). It is a VERY nice zoo, well laid out, clean, lots of gardens, and has a tram you can ride if you get tired (I think there was a cost for that). All of the exhibits were very nice. The kids enjoyed the Dolphin show a lot too. We would definitely visit again. We went during the week in the summer and crowds were minimal. THe best deal for us on admission was a membership. We purchased the grandparents membership package and they can now take the other grandkids all year.

Brookfield Zoo is always a great time, very clean and beautifully landscaped. I also enjoy taking advantage of their extras, such as enrolling my son in the Bug Club, and going during Halloween which is fun for the whole family.

My kids (4,5 & 7)absolutely love Brookfield Zoo. We love going during spring, summer and fall but my favorite time to go is winter. yes, winter!!! many animals that are sluggish during the hot weather are up and moving and playing during the winter and there are no crowds. When it is really freezing out we go straight to "Hamil Family Play Zoo" and we could be in just that one building for hours. There are so many things to do in there. There are different activities for kids daily like painting or playing with mud and toy animals. There are animals you can see like turtles, snakes, lemurs and much more. A member of the zoo takes out a different animal each day for children to see and/or pet like a rabbit, a cat, or a hissing cockroach. Children love to play doctors at the animal hospital where they have real working stethoscopes, bandages, gowns and many stuffed animals with a pouch for kids to see the kidneys, liver, stomach and heart. My kids also love to paint their faces by themselves every time we visit the Hamil Family Play Zoo and during winter time there is no waiting for a spot.

There are many things to see and do. If you live in the area I strongly recommend buying the membership that includes free entrance into the Hamil Family Play Zoo and the Children's Petting Zoo. I believe all memberships come with free parking and free admission. It is well worth the money, especially if you have kids or grandkids between the ages of 2-10. There is learning and fun in one great building.

We sometimes visit the zoo during spring or summer just to have a picnic and walk around the beautiful parks and scenery. I love that I don't have to spend extra on expensive food...I could pack my own basket of goodies and bring them in my pull-along wagon instead of renting one.

We've been buying the membership to this zoo since my 1st born turned 1 and it's by far the best membership I've so far purchased because of the many benefits. Other memberships like to the museum or the aquarium do not include parking and that alone is about $16+ each time you visit.

Always enjoy a visit. Many new exhibits, but expect to pay for the big events. Just found out they offer discounts for homeschoolers if they go under field trips as a group. Check their site for more info. under field trips. Love the ocean exhibit with the tide pool.

This zoo never gets old. My kids love it. The gorilla house is their favorite and they love observing the animals in such a natural environment. The activities available for kids to participate in adds to the experience. Highly suggest a zoo membership because if you only go a couple times a year, it more than pays for itself. Plus you get bonus tickets and passes for friends. Very stroller friendly.
