What child doesn't love animals. This is one of the best zoos we've ever visited. The zoo does an excellent job at caring for the animals.

As with many zoos, there are placards describing the animals and their natural habitats. They also have rides if you want to spend a little extra.

For budget-conscious families, Wednesdays are pay-as-you-wish admission. This is a fun place to spend a day with the family.

Last year we started going to the Bronx Zoo, as we live an hour away. It was such an awesome Homeschooling experience, we decided to join and become members. Now we try to go 1 time a week! We pick a different animal each time and study that animal. We come home, look up more information on the animal and have become so knowledgeable about these animals. It's a great, clean zoo. Parking fills up, so we suggest getting their at 10 am when they open. On Wednesday's it's "donation day" so you can pay what you can afford on those days. It's hard pressed to see the entire Zoo in 1 day, so we usually only pick a certain area at a time to see and study. My children are 6 and 3 (and 1) so this is a great outing for them. IF you know someone who has a membership, you can be their guest, check it out, for FREE. Hope more homeschoolers see this as a great way to learn and serves as our Phys Ed also!

We had so much fun learning about all the different animals. With the Pay as you wish Wednesday we were able to get souvenirs to take home.

We'll definitely be back soon.
