This is a wonderful museum. We visit Utah on a yearly basis and we like to find what is there. They have always been great about arranging a field trip while we are visiting and it's wonderful for me and my family. Sometimes they have had to combine us with another group, but often we are able to go just as our own group of 6 people. This place does like for there to be advance notice and there is an admission fee.

They usually have a variety of exhibits. The last time we went, they had origami. The art was incredible, and sometimes interactive. There was also a video showing how origami is used in medicine, and technology such as space shuttle design. There were corresponding displays of some of those items. It was fascinating, and they had a room with origami books, paper and iPad tutorials to do your own origami. My 10 and 12 yr old loved it. This is just one example of the fun things they sometimes have at the museum. We dropped in impromptu, but you can check out their website to see their current exhibits or their educational programs for kids. When my kids were younger we attended an educational program that included time in their art room to create something in the style of the art they learned about. If you know when you're going to visit, it's a good idea to see if they have something like that available.
