 | Jamie F, Co-op Member | Big Bone Lick Park is a place yhat our family visits regularly! We've been going to this park for years and it always impresses. There are a few trails for visitors with placards along the way to highlight historical events/people. There are plenty of safe hiking trails of varying lengths. Throughout the year they have a guide that will take groups on hikes or teach classes such as "Primitive Skills" and tell about things that happened there long ago when the salt licks were there! Don't forget to go see the bison! Yes, I said bison. There is a large herd that roams the pasture of Big Bone and you can view them in their somewhat natural element. There are very nice picnic areas and a beautiful fishing lake. Big Bone Lick also has a campground, swimming pool, and many other family activities scheduled throughout the year. |
