We visited Beauvoir March 2010. They are still rebuilding. They have a small store and museum set up and the house is open and has been completely restored. They are working on rebuilding the library and kitchen. The tour is very informative and short. The kids loved looking at the details of the house and doing the self guided tour outside. Some days you can even catch the alligator sunning himself!! The destruction from Hurricane Katrina was horrible and they have done a lot of work to bring this historic property back for the public to see. Thank you!

We visited Beauvoir during their 30th Annual Fall Muster. It was awesome! The 2nd floor of the Museum has the recently restored original carriage known as the "death carriage". The home is still being renovated in rooms, but it was magnificent to see. We walked through the museum, gift shop, library, home and cemetery and then enjoyed the re-enactment. The rebels and confederates fired canons and muskets while dressed in dated uniforms. Walking the grounds of this historic home was just an amazing journey back in time.
