Facility:BARAGA COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM
Description:Located on US 41 in Baraga, Michigan, on the shores of L'Anse Bay (Keweenaw Bay). The museum collects, displays and preserves the rich history of Baraga County's past. The Museum is barrier free and provides a park area for persons to enjoy a picnic or just sit and enjoy the bay. The setting here on the bay has rich historic significance to the Baraga County Historical Society. As you look out over the bay, you can see the historic Red Rocks and the Lac View Desert Trail. Looking north, you can see Sandpoint where ancient artifacts have been carbon dated to be more than a 1000 years old.
