The Austin Museum of Art is a great place to take a field trip. It is located on Congress about 3 blocks South of the Capitol. There is free parking at the Capitol Parking Garage for the first 2 hours.
We were greeted at the front desk by a very friendly staff member who told us about the exhibits and answered many questions with a smile. We absolutely loved the art pieces and then went to the family room where the kids could work on some art of their own. It was a great field trip and I would definately do it again as they change out the exhibits often.
Note: They are closed on Mondays
