This is arguably the best Aquarium in the south! From butterflies that land intermittently on your clothing to barking seals that seem to beg you to join them in the pool, every kid (or kid at heart) will fall in love with this place. It's a close encounter with nature that won't let you down. Environmental education tips are posted everywhere & docents are pretty readily available at main exhibits. It is HOT inside the Tropical areas and the eating area is sometimes too noisy for young children to "rest" between pyramid explorations. Otherwise, it's worth the drive to Galveston & the beach front is close enough for a picnic lunch.

I cannot wait to go back and take my kids! My husband and I visited Moody Gardens for a getaway and it was amazing! My favorite part was the butterfly release in the rainforest pyramid. Totally amazing!
