Summary:Age Range: 6-13 (approximately, with adult supervision) The state of Alaska provides this website where kids of all ages can learn about Alaska’s history, culture, geography, wildlife, and more.
Description:When you get to the site, you’ll see a menu that includes:

*Facts About Alaska – Discover the origins of the name, “Alaska.” Learn the state motto, capital, flower, and flag.

*Student Information – Print out a free 2-page fact sheet on Alaska.

*History & Culture – Learn about Alaskan history, native cultures, Russian heritage, the purchase of Alaska from Russia (aka “Seward’s Folly”), the gold rush, and more.

*Geography – Find out about Alaska’s climate, daylight hours, glaciers, hot springs, and explore maps of various regions.

*Wildlife – Watch videos of Alaskan bears, moose, and caribou. (I had some trouble opening these videos. If you can’t open them, you can visit the Alaskan Zoo’s YouTube channel to watch zoo animal videos.)

Enjoy!
