”This is the second year we have used the Discovery Education online products. It is amazing to have so much information at your fingertips. For both years we have purchased the science and health programs. We are regular Discovery Channel watchers, so to be able to manipulate the programs and choices is so much fun -- my kids ask to continue after school is finished for the day. The health program is great as well. Again, the information is available so quickly all you have to do is type in your topic, and select grade level. You are then given options for the types of presentations for the material. You can design your own curriculum out of their programs, or use it to supplement another. Last year I used it as a supplement. This year I am designing my own. I will continue to use this product! Science is a very intricate and ever-changing subject, I enjoy having the experts on my side!”

Online I can review and decide which videos, clips or other media to include in my son's assignments - and then he signs on to complete his assignments throughout the week. It is very easy to use once you learn the ins and outs of the DE interface.

”My kids love Discovery Education Science. We had used Time4Learning for K-2nd but found their 3rd grade Science to be too much reading and not enough fun. I was initially disappointed with DE Science, because I found the process for assigning work too tedious and time consuming to use. But, since my children liked it so much, I decided to try a different approach which is completely easy for me to manage. I basically allow my children to decide what they want to learn about and to work through a video or interactive lesson of their choosing. Then, they write a paragraph or a page summarizing what they learned. This accomplishes two things. They are utilizing their writing skills and proving what they learned. And, it is child-led which means they are very motivated about what they are learning. This may not be enough to satisfy the requirements of older children but for 2nd, 3rd, or 4th graders is works quite well. To test my children, they simply read through their summaries, and I cull questions from what they have written. I have told others about it, and their children have liked it as well. Simply put, it is engaging, and my children have never complained about doing Discovery Education Science.”
