”As a homeschooler and a Shakespeare theatre producer, I highly recommend Digital Theatre Plus for anyone interested in great theatre. They have the best selection of professional performances, especially of Shakespeare, featuring the Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare's Globe, etc. And the homeschool discount provides all of it at a great price. I've very glad I found this. Highly recommended!”

”This is a nice way to access plays online. I am glad that Homeschool Buyers Co-op provided the discount. To get plays on its own is pricey. this way we have an access to the whole site for a reasonable price. If you like good quality theatre and other performances this is a good site. We have not had a chance to use extras on Digital Theatre Plus site yet, but they all look great. Would like to use it again if available through co-op.”

”We have been using Digital Theatre for about a year and a half now, and are delighted. My daughter uses drama as the center of her curriculum, drawing together history, literature, science and technology, and art.

Digital Theatre is unique because it has resources that address all these different aspects. Besides the plays themselves -- plus operas, plus an archive of Broadway shows -- there are hundreds of hours of interviews with actors, directors, producers, lighting and set designers, costumers, technicians. There are materials written by history and literature professors. The result is that you can see any production through multiple angles; but you can also compare different designers and directors, or see a play through from script to performance to reviews.

Tickets to live theater are expensive, even with discounts or season packages. National Theater Live films some London performances and shows them at movie theaters several times a year, but tickets in our city are $20 per person per play. Digital Theatre allows us to see many more plays at far lower cost. But for my daughter, the best thing about the program is the bounty of material discussing how theater is made, from every possible angle, and a sense of the variety and richness of different dramatic genres and styles of production.

Digital Theatre allows homeschoolers to make the dramatic arts a substantial part of a child's education, rather than a rare excursion. It has been nothing but a joy for our entire household.”
