Cicero is an excellent and thorough history program. It does require the parent to select and oversee in order to maximize the benefits. It is definitely equivalent to an AP course if used according to the scope and sequence. Both mom and son are learning alot!!

My son has been using Cicero for a month now and I wanted to let you know how wonderful it is! There are a few free US history sites out there and having tried those I can tell you that Cicero is more complete with tests with additional reading recommendations and you can use it for multiple grades! The younger grades will need the parent's guidance but upper middle and high scholars will be able to do everything independently! My son is adding some additional books and notebooking pages to make this even more nestled! Thank you HSBC for offeri...(more)

Cicero History programming is a wonderful change for our son. He is an avid reader of historical information, and using the computer is a nice change with videos and extras. It is not comparable with other programs-truly unique and interesting for a 12 year old's need to learn!
Laura Carlson, Co-op Member
We have been VERY impressed with the amount of material and depth of information in Cicero History. I even wrote to them directly asking that they consider working with the Homeschool Buyers Co-op again, so I can afford to do the entire 2 year course with my 9th grader.

The style of instruction not only teaches history, but also teaches critical thinking, and independent thought. I am very impressed.

[Editor's note: Cicero History is still available through the Co-op.]
