”Love the History classes; we're starting the last one now. Amazing how much she remembers from several years ago. It's laid a solid foundation in history that we're reaping the benefits from now. It took a load off of me for teaching and it was affordable. Highly recommend!”
”Veritas-Press online Bible is a wonderful curriculum. This is our second year using it and my daughter has learned so much. It's nice that she can log on and do a bible lesson on her own and she absolutely loves it. After each lesson we talk and discuss what she's learned and it has been amazing. The videos are fun and engaging. We will continue using Veritas Press as part of our homeschool curriculum.”
”Our family LOVES VP Self Paced History. We have had a subscription continuously for seven years! My oldest son loved it so much that he completed all five sections in under three years. My second son is happily working on the last section, and my third son just started the program this fall. I am always amazed at how much information it covers and how much the kids enjoy the lessons and review games. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Also, VP has awesome customer service, a friendly human on the other end of every phone call every single time!”
”Both of my children love Veritas. They never complain about this class; If they are overwhelmed, they do Veritas. It is not boring or overwhelming. Both of my children for the first time they enjoy history. The classes make the students learn in a way that is fun. I already bought two classes for next year.”
|”Veritas self-paced history courses have been a blessing to my family over the last year; it allows me to teach one-on-one with my preschooler while the older two complete Bible-based history together with engaging characters, songs, and games; these elements really makes history come alive! I love that my kids are learning history from a biblical point of view! I would rate Veritas self-paced history courses with 4.5 stars out of 5! With a few minor tweaks like adding text-to-speech as an option so younger kids can navigate the course independently, modifying some of the timed games so slow readers have more time to read and respond, and providing more direction and support in their spelling games, the product would be a five-star, stellar, must-have program for every homeschooler. Don t get me wrong, I like most of the games and love the characters, but every program has its areas where they can improve however slight. YES! We have already purchased it again for next year and we've convinced several other families to purchase it as well. I highly recommend Veritas's self-paced history as it would be very difficult to match the same level of interest in history generated by both their characters and games in any other way!
Also, the support staff has always been helpful and warm when I've had to call in which is a major plus when dealing with computers! (I assure you, the problems I referenced have not been the fault of the course itself, but with our browser, internet connection timing out, or my kids leaving it unattended for too long.) It s nice to be able to pick up the phone and get prompt, helpful, support.
We also purchased the self-paced bible program. The Bible course was similar to the history self-paced course with catchy songs, characters that dress up and games that keep the course engaging. This is an excellent Bible course for what it is: a Bible class. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this and was looking for more of a devotional rather than what you'd typically see in a classroom setting. It does not take the place of a good devotional, but I do highly recommend the Veritas Bible courses to those looking to cover the events of the bible in detail: memorizing, dates, names, references, maps and places, and having a solid knowledge of the chronology of the events of the Bible.”
”This is our second year using Veritas Press for our homeschool Bible curriculum. While discussing different curriculum's available with our daughter, she was very vocal about wanting to use Veritas Press again this year. We have been happy with her progress and she is happy with the curriculum. With such success, we will continue using it.”
”We are using VP self paced history for the second time. I love every aspect of it. My 11 year can do it whether I am ready or not, it is interesting, educational and fun. It keeps her attention and reinforces the information over and over in many Different ways. She always wants to history first!”
”Veritas Press' Self-paced Omnibus program has opened the Great Books world to my somewhat reluctant son. He really enjoys the locations and interviews, which are not really possible in a live discussion class, and he feels connected to the teacher. Obviously, this also means that the student doesn't participate in discussion. Because son often takes an outside literature/writing class, I only sign him up for the Primary class. I do, however, like to buy the book and have him complete some Secondary selections, as these Secondary works are typically of high interest and he's often already read many. Omnibus delivers an engaging and intense Great Books course at an amazing value. It has expanded my son's interest and understanding and helped him develop skills to critically think about history, literature and theology and apply his learning to the world around him. VP offers this course live online, and there are other vendors offering high-quality online Great Books courses, but for the price as well as the locations and expert interviews, this course value is hard to beat.”
”My two fourth graders have enjoyed working through the Veritas Press Self-Paced Bible curriculum. The lessons take roughly 30 minutes to complete and give a thorough look at the topic being discussed. My kids do not mind completing their Bible and have asked to do more than assigned on occasion. I plan to keep using the series for the next couple of years. I love the fact that my children can work independently. My only complaint is that you cannot print the tests at a later date from the parent portal. If you plan on printing items for a student portfolio, you must do it as the student complete the test.”
”We absolutely love the Self-paced History & Bible. My son looks forward to learning his favorite subjects. He enjoys the games & the memory songs. They keep him engaged & he retains the information he learns. We will continue to use it & share VP with friends & other homeschool families.”
”This is an excellent way for your children to learn history! My three younger children, grades 3 and 6 do their history together every day and take turns clicking and doing the games. Because it is so interactive, they are truly retaining the information. We all enjoy the Veritas Press Self Paced History lessons and highly recommend them to everyone!”
”We have been very happy with the Veritas Press self-paced history courses. These courses are based on the Providential view of history. The flashcards help reinforce the course material. The song helps one remember a time frame for the sequence of events. Fun games are incorporated in the reviews, which make it enjoyable for our son. We just purchased our fourth self-paced history course!”
”My 9 year old loves it. Not only is it interesting, funny and engaging...he's learning extra skills that are more difficult for me to teach. One is - Looking at words when reading to see how they're spelled. We're also working on note taking skills -- from the speakers.”
|”We have been using Veritas Press Self-Paced History lessons for 2 years and it has been one of the best decisions I have made with my curriculum choices! The lessons are engaging, fun, and hold my children's attention better than a textbook. My children love to learn about history with this curriculum.
Recently I found out my son had dyslexia. The history lessons are suited very well for his right-brained learning style. His knowledge of history, including the time-line, is very good thanks to the songs, games, and repetition built into the program. He will struggle to read some of the quiz questions but once I read them to him he knows the answers. I also have to admit I have learned things I never knew. I will continue to buy these and will be disappointed when we have completed all of them because they are so good.”
”Finally found a history curriculum that my kids love!!!! They even ask to do it on the weekends!! They are learning so much and are able to retain what they've learned. We couldn't be happier!!!!”
”My kids all enjoy this all-encompassing approach to world history. I enjoy that it is self-paced and "hands off" from a mom/teacher perspective. The interactive games and the characters are very appealing to young children. The HSBC discount allows me to purchase accounts for all my children individually, which I could not do at full price. Thank you!”
”We are using both Bible and History for my 4th grader. While I love that he can use it mostly independently (I occasionally have to assist), there is one big thing that I wish was different. Unless I sit with him while he does the work, I have no idea what he is learning. He told me something the other day that he learned and I had no idea if it was correct or not. I wish I could either preview a summary, or see a cliffs notes version of what he covered in each lesson. I needed it so he could have independence and take something off my plate, but I do not like being totally in the dark about the content he covered. Other than this, I love the program.”
”My 11-year-old son has really enjoyed the self-paced Bible and History programs from Veritas-Press. It is set up in a way that makes learning fun for him. I also plan to use the self-paced Omnibus next school year. He and I, both, have really enjoyed this style of teaching. I'm also very thankful I got such an awesome discount through Homeschool Buyers Co-op!”
|”We love the Veritas-Press Self-paced history and Self-paced Bible. My kids are in 1st, 2nd and Pre-K. They all love the memory song. It is pretty amazing that they can memorize all the info in the songs. The program is top notch- and we have tried it all (I have also homeschooled 3 older kids). The 2nd grader loved the history so much that he would do 2-3 lessons a day sometimes. We started him in the second year in March- and he has memorized that song also. The younger ones love the song, too. The 1st grader is going at a slower pace, but still enjoying the history. Some of the games are challenging, but it really keeps their attention. Veritas really took a lot of time to make this history program, it is very thorough. The kids can start the history themselves and do it themselves for the most part. It is nice to have something that doesn't require me to help them. They have learned so much. It is worth it!! Some of the extra history books are too hard for them, so I didn't purchase them for the second year.
Overall this program is wonderful- the kids also love the cards that you purchase to go with the program.”
”My 9 year old son loves Veritas Press self-paced course. I purchased the 1815-Present and he eats it up. He wants to do Veritas Press first every day. As a very independent student, he likes being able to do this on his own. It's fun to talk at dinnertime about what he learned. Because of the memory song, events that he hasn't learned about yet have piqued his interest and he asked 5 questions about our history that I had to look up myself. That's the kind of love for history that I want!”
”Our 11 year old son loves his his Veritas-Press History. It's the first thing he picks every morning to start school. He also enjoys the extra reading included. We have seen him learn and retain the information much faster. I highly recommend this program!”
|”We are completing our first year using Veritas Press self-paced courses, and the verdict is --OUTSTANDING!!!
We chose the bi-phasic Omnibus course, and worked through the primary and secondary levels simultaneously. They can be studied separately, or together with a five day per week schedule for the primary and three days per week for the secondary. Together they provide a very challenging, yet fun, and interesting plan for earning three high-school credits in ancient history, ancient literature, and theology. Check out the reading list!
We also purchased the OT/Ancient Egypt elementary level, self-paced course and LOVED it. Our 5th grader was actually taking the course, but her younger sister and older brother both arranged their schedules to not miss a class, because of the great dynamics, action, and humor. I found the lessons to be very thorough and effective in teaching the biblical and non-biblical history simultaneously.
We only had one technical glitch and the customer support was excellent. They answer our e-mails promptly, remotely assisted us in running diagnostics on our internet and effectively resolved the issue. We also called them with regard to ordering books, and found the staff to be very kind and professional.
There is a lot of reading that goes with these classes. For our voracious readers this is not a problem. However, we chose to do all the reading out-loud as a family, and really enjoyed this time too.
I still can't believe we covered this much in one year, and know we could not have done it without the framework of the video classes, and the incredible lectures and interviews they provide.
We are looking forward to years two, three, four, five...”
”I can't say enough about this course!! My 8 year old son loves it. Today he actually asked if we could "please do history!" What most impressed me is how he has actually been retaining the information he's learning. I have recommended this course to a few homeschooling friends and hope to continue to use it next school year.”
”My 8 year old son is delighted with the Ancient History interactive online program through Veritas Press. He wants to do it this summer for fun!!”
