We are using Language Smarts B for my Kindergartner and C for my 1st grader. I am very impressed with this curriculum. Everything is thoughtfully laid out, and sequenced well to keep them learning and challenged at a reasonable rate. The activities are varied and interesting, and they scale up gradually from basic phonics to real writing by the end of the year. I love that the answers are not spoon-fed; even in a language arts curriculum, this company's products encourage the kids to THINK, to reason, and to exercise their noodle. The Language Smarts C came with a small packet of updated pages, where the graphics had been messed up slightly on the originals, but even the mistakes were very minor, and I consider this a top notch product. The ONLY change I would have made is ruled blanks for handwriting (these kids are still pretty young), rather than open spaces, but when I compare the loss of that to the quality of the material they're learning, I wouldn't switch back to my old curriculum. We'll be using Language Smarts for the next few years, and my preschooler will be starting it next year too.”

My child enjoys these books. We use the Language Smarts as his curriculum for language arts and supplement the book with other worksheets. The books are easy to use, easy to read and fun to do, with colorful pages and quality information to keep anyone's attention. I have already purchased the same books to use with my younger child. :)”

We are using five Critical Thinking Company products this year. I want my kids to be able to think for themselves and to be able to problem solve, more than any other achievement. The products we are using are all fantastic. The workbooks are easy to read, and have great 'thinking' exercises. Their pages are perforated, for removal for portfolios, too. The software programs are active,colorful, and provide plenty of opportunity for kids to really think about what is going on, and how to problem solve the issues. We love the US History programs. They present both sides of issues and question the logic and reasoning for each side. They provide an opportunity for kids to learn to look for supporting justification and that there are two sides to each story! Truly wonderful products. We will definitely be using 'The Critical Thinking Company' for products for next year. Thanks to the Homeschool Buyers Co-op for providing these opportunities, too!”
