What is Pokémon Learning League?

Pokémon Learning League is a web-based educational suite of animated, interactive lessons in language arts, math, science, and life skills for grades 3-6. Go to the Pokémon Learning League website for more information.

What is the best way to find out about Pokémon Learning League?

Go to the Pokémon Learning League website and use the Co-op's special trial account to check it out:

Who can use the product?

Pokémon Learning League is designed for educators and students in grades 3-6. The web-based product is a supplemental resource for standards-based lessons that help educators reinforce core curriculum and maximize student learning. Students enjoy the engaging animation and storylines as they learn. The ongoing feedback and guided instruction helps motivate students to improve their performance.

What grade level does this product target?

Primarily for grades 3-6, Pokémon Learning League can also be used with young gifted students, special needs students, and English Language Learners. Because it is a supplemental resource that supports differentiated instruction in core content areas, the program can be used with a diverse range of students and in a variety of learning environments.

When will I be able to use the product?

If you purchase a subscription, you'll have access within minutes of placing your order. You will have your own account under our school subscription. The expiration date of our school subscription is shown on the Buy Now page.

If you sign up for 1 week of free access to the Co-op's subscription, you'll have access within minutes of signing up, and your trial will end at midnight Pacific time on the 7th day after you sign up.

When can I access this product?

Pokémon Learning League is an online product. It can be used anytime, anywhere you Internet access. You will have access 24/7/365.

What are the system requirements to operate this product?

The only system requirements are an Internet connection, an Internet browser, and Flash 8 Media Player, which typically comes standard with the browser. It requires a DSL or cable or other high-speed Internet connection.

How many students can access the system simultaneously?

A single license through the Co-op will give up to three students simultaneous access. You will set up accounts for each student after we give you access. If you will have more than three students using it simultaneously, please purchase an additional license.

Is training included with product purchase?

The product's user-friendly format and features are self-explanatory, so it doesn't require any special technical training.

What teacher resources are included with this product? Is there a student assessment component for teachers?

A teacher's guide and classroom materials such as printable quizzes are provided. More content and features will be added to continually enhance the product, with an administrative tracking system added this summer.

Why is Pokémon, a developer of consumer products, creating an educational product?

Following a successful 10-year relationship with kids, Pokémon has combined solid curriculum and instructional strategies with its appealing and popular animated characters to deliver a highly engaging and captivating educational tool.

Who is developing the content for the Pokémon Learning League?

A dedicated team of U.S. elementary educators and experts in instruction, curriculum and technology integration is helping develop the Pokémon Learning League. In addition, an esteemed board of advisors is very involved with the product development and evaluation. Several pilot sites at elementary schools have evaluated how teachers and students access and use the product. All of the content is correlated to U.S. national education standards.

How is this product related to the Pokémon Trading Card Game, video games, animated TV show, and other licensed products?

Pokémon Learning League is a unique and separate division of the Pokémon company. The division is staffed with educators who work specifically on designing a pedagogically sound, standards-based product that teachers and students will find meaningful and effective.

Are the Pokémon characters and animation appropriate for use in my homeschool?

The Pokémon characters demonstrate creative problem-solving skills and prosocial behaviors such as teamwork and relationship-building to serve as models for students.

I understand students can earn points. How are points calculated?

Points (based on the number of questions answered correctly) are awarded to the student upon completion of each APPLY segment. Points are based on 100 point scale, with five Frequent Player points awarded when a user completes more than one topic during a one-week period. This one-week period resets at 12am each Monday morning. Users can only earn these Frequent Player points a maximum of 5 times per topic each week.

Does Pokémon Learning League contain Evolution material?

No.

Will I have my own Pokémon Learning League account?

Yes, but as part of the Co-op's School Access subscription. For security reasons, the Co-op will not disclose your sign in and password. However, you will have access to Pokémon Learning League through the link on your My Profile page at the Co-op website.

Am I allowed to share my Pokémon Learning League access with others.

No - absolutely not. Your Co-op login and password information MUST be kept confidential.
PLEASE RESPECT YOUR FELLOW CO-OP MEMBERS - DO NOT SHARE YOUR ACCOUNT WITH OTHERS!

How do I access my new Pokemon account?

At the end of the Group Buy, you will be able to access both the student and teacher account through a link on your Co-op My Profile page. To view My Profile, you must sign in at the Co-op website. There will be a link to your Pokemon account under the "My Subscriptions" tab. Three students may the system simultaneously.

TO ACCESS YOUR NEW POKEMON ACCOUNT, DO THE FOLLOWING:


1. Sign in at the Co-op. You'll see your My Profile page.

2. Scroll down untill you see the link "Login to Pokemon Learning League."

3. Click the link.

The link will navigate you to the PLL website and AUTOMATICALLY sign you in with a default username and password that was assigned to you by the Co-op.

IMPORTANT: Once you are at the PLL website, you will be able to change the username and password that the Co-op assigned to you, but if you do, the link on your My Profile page will no longer work. Thereafter, you will have to sign in directly at the PLL website with whatever username and password you created for yourself.

How do I add my student(s)?

You need to create accounts for your students to that you can make assignments and track their progress.

TO CREATE STUDENT ACCOUNTS, DO THE FOLLOWING:

1. Sign in to your (the parent) account (see previous FAQ).

Once you have signed in, you should see a link called "Account Admin" in the upper right corner of the PLL website.

2. Click the "Account Admin" link in the upper right corner.

PLL will display the "Account Administration" page in a separate window.

3. Click the "Add Child" rectangle in the upper right area of the Account Administration window (to the right of the View/Change rectangle).

You'll see fields for Username, Password, and Email Address.

4. Enter a Username for your student.

5. Enter a Password for your student.

6. Do NOT enter an Email address. It's not required, and PLL doesn't use it, so there is no point in giving out your child's email address.

7. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the screen.

8. Repeat steps 2-6 for each additional child, up to a maximum of three students.

You should now see all the student accounts you created listed in the Account Administration window.

9. Close the Account Administration window by clickinte the "X" in the upper right corner of the window.

10. Log out of your parent account by clicking the Logout button in the upper right corner of the PLL website.

11. Give your student his/her username and password, and help him/her sign in.

CONGRATULATIONS! You student is on his/her way!

Hereafter, your student should NOT use the link in your My Profile page. Doing so will sign them into YOUR account, not his/hers. Your student needs to sign in at the PLL home page.
