| Description: | Welcome to Outlaw Student’s (formerly Straightforward Media) Medical Professions Scholarship program! We offer four scholarships a year exclusively to medical professionals. And we don’t just mean physicians — we mean all kinds of medical professionals. Will the demand for medical professionals ever subside? We doubt it. With new medical technologies and discoveries extending our life expectancy — and a massive crop of Baby Boomers headed into retirement to make use of them — there’s plenty of room for every conceivable type of medical professional in tomorrow’s professional landscape. Whatever your reason for going into the medical field, you’ll need money to get there. That’s why we created the $500 Medical Professions Scholarship, offered four times per year Our application periods are as follows : July 1 - September 30 October 1 - December 31 January 1 - March 31 April 1 - June 30 |

| Other Requirements: | What Counts As Medical Professions? Good question. Obviously physicians (current and prospective) of any kind are included here, but so are technicians, physician’s assistants, nurses, therapists, etc. We know that we’re not aware of every single type of health professional out there, so we can’t provide a comprehensive list of what does and doesn’t constitute a “health professional.” In the end, if you think there’s some reason to doubt that we’d consider your educational program to fit into the category of “health professional,” just explain in your essay why you think it is. We’re reasonable and unprejudiced with respect to different career fields, and if you think your chosen occupation is a health professional, then we’ll probably think so, too. Just make your case, and your application will likely be considered along with everyone else’s. |
