The Apostolic Home School Network
God has given clear direction in His Word for how He wants His people to live. This goes far beyond entering the Kingdom. He speaks to every area of our lives. We must be sensitive to Him and respond to His voice as we seek to live out His will for us.
We at the Network have seen that the Lord shows parents their responsibilities in rearing their children in all phases of their development. In fact, the Scripture doesn't allow us to separate a child's education into "academic" and "spiritual" categories and say that only the spiritual is of concern to God.
Colossians 3:17 ~ "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
AHSN exists
a) to call parents to bring their children out of ungodly educational systems, i.e., government-run schools,
b) to support those parents who already home educate, and
c) to teach parents to implement home-based discipleship as distinguished from school at home.
The Network accomplishes this through the following :
1) The annual Shema Christian Family Conference which AHSN sponsors.
2) Other events which the Network endorses, such as the Apostolic Home School Festival and the Oklahoma Home School Conference. AHSN is available to assist with new events in areas where families desire to organize one consistent with Network goals.
3) The AHSN yahoo chat group and fan page on Facebook.
4) Messages sent periodically to our e-list subscribers.
5) Endeavoring to connect Apostolic home schoolers with others who live in relatively close geographical proximity.
We encourage all parents everywhere to step forward strongly and do for their children what would be honoring to the Lord Jesus Christ. Without bold, courageous moves by today's family leaders, the work of the Lord will not be done. |
