SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

Have you had success teaching science and technology in your home school? What's your secret?

Share your science and technology success stories with our community, and get a chance to win a $50 Amazon Gift Card. Our winner will be randomly drawn from posts that get at least two "Likes" on any of our Teaching Tips or Success Stories pages.

We will do the drawing at the beginning of each month for posts in the prior month, and announce the winners on our Facebook wall and in the Co-op newsletter. Your posts will remain on this page to provide ideas and inspiration to other homeschool teachers! (Need help?)

I have two young girls, who demonstrate natural curiosity. So, as a science lesson, we had a "paper fight" to teach them about the best way to make the paper move through the air. We experimented with flat paper, folding the paper, rolling the paper in a ball, and paper airplanes. We created a hypothesis for our paper designs, learned about the effect of surface area, friction, and aerodynamics. It was simply, fun, and teaches some great science concepts, even for little ones!
