 | | Lisa Beach, Co-op Member | | We stumbled on Young At Art Children's Museum while on vacation years ago and loved it so much we went back again once our boys got older. There are LOTS of hands-on activities here, geared toward the elementary school age. (However, even my 12-year-old had fun when we went the second time.) Located in a non-descript strip mall, the museum is a fairly good size for its location. There's a fun recycling area where kids get to feed garbage into the appropriate areas and learn about recycling. There's an international themed area where you can make masks, play on drums and explore different cultures. And my boys favorite part was the glow-in-the-dark room, where you can paint your own glowing creation. I believe Young At Art changes the exhibits from time to time, but we loved our experience both times. If you live close enough, it would pay to buy a membership, which would also give you free/discounted admission to other attractions in the area. |
