 | | Amy L., Co-op Member | We took the Wolfgang Chocolate Factory tour in January 2010, and we really enjoyed it. I would highly recommend it to others. The tour was full of interesting things to see, and the chocolates were delicious.
The web site states that larger groups have to call ahead for a reservation, but we called about two hours before we wanted to take the tour and they readily accommodated us. The woman who led our tour was very pleasant and knowledgable about the company and seemed to really enjoy her job.
Our group consisted of both boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 16, and they all had a great time. I'm not sure how suitable it would be for younger children, however. There is a lot of walking in and between buildings involved, so little ones may get tired. Our kids found all of the machinery very interesting, and they loved the free samples at the end of the tour most of all (of course!).
As mentioned before, the tour involved walking outdoors between three of the Wolfgang factory buildings, so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. And take some extra cash with you, because in their factory store you can buy factory "seconds" (chocolates unsuitable for store shelves but still perfectly yummy) at unbelievable prices...you won't be able to resist! |

 | | Robin Z, Co-op Member | | This is a fun place to visit. During the Made in York days (June 22-25th) the candy making tour is free to all, with no reservations required. This is a small town business in a large town. The tour is close up. You see everything. |
