| Description: | One simple decision, the results of which are still evident today. Robert Whaley, the longest serving President of Citizens Bank, authorized the $2,000 loan to William "Billy" Durant, which eventually enabled him to form General Motors Corporation in 1908. Come see the original loan booklet. Asided from legendary auto history, the Whaley House itself is sure to spark your curiosity. Built in 1859, the house has been restored to its original splendor, complete with period furnishings, family heirlooms and Flint community artifacts. |
