| The WMMI preserves a rich history and brings it to life for you through operating steam engines and mining equipment from the 18th and 19th centuries--including a 37-ton Corliss Steam Engine Take an imaginative guided tour at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. (included in admission cost) Experience with hands-on exhibits including gold panning. Learn what rocks you eat and how mining relates to all of us. Outdoor displays on beautiful acres of rolling hills, trees, meadows, streams and beaver ponds. WMMI mascots (donkeys Oro and Nugget) are on the grounds (children can see and/or pet them). |
