| Description: | The S. S. Willis B. Boyer (formerly the Col. James M. Schoonmaker) was built in 1911 and “retired” in 1980 after 69 years of service. For many of these years it ruled as “queen of the lake freighters.” But today, the S. S. Willis B. Boyer is polished, repaired, and safe for visitors — thousands of them since the boat was opened to the public in July of 1987. Free Parking. |
