Facility:The Museum of the Cherokee Indian
Description:The Museum of the Cherokee Indian takes visitors all the way back to the beginnings of human existence here in these glorious, storied mountains of western North Carolina. The museum provides an educational and interactive experience where concise, chronological stories retrace the 11,000 year documented history of the Cherokees.

An excellent and factual museum of the Eastern Band of Cherokee and their history in the Great Smoky Mountains. Combine it with a trip to the Oconaluftee Indian Village and/or the Unto These Hills Drama. Call in advance to receive the school group rate even for a small group of homeschoolers.
