| Philadelphia's only all-bug museum and the largest insect musuem in America. Thousands of mounted insects and live species! Lots of interactive exhibits, learning gardens, a movie room, and lots more fun stuff for kids. They offer tours of the museum and traveling shows to schools and other facilities. Their collection includes 500,000 mounted insects and several thousand live arthropods. School teachers science programs benefit from trips to the museum. |

 | | Stevi, Co-op Member | Don't let the outside fool you, if your kid likes creepy crawlies this is the place to go. This is a converted home so the hallways are narrow, with lots of renovated rooms.
Surrounded by both permanent displays and living bugs of all sorts you might get the heebie jeebies but my son loved it. He touched a giant millipede & even ate a dried nacho flavored bug - ew! Their gift shop is tiny but there's a ton of stuff to browse through.
In all a really good trip, but once done I'm not sure that we would do a repeat. |
