You can go on your own, organize a field trip or take part in their bi yearly home school days. I'd give the zoo 5* for going on your own, but only 3* for the home school days and field trips. When you go on your own, you can visit as few or as many of the exhibits as you like, especially if you have a yearly pass (a great deal.) If you plan in advance to actually "study" one or two animals, your children will learn a great deal. At home school days, there were too many kids for the number of facilitators and I actually ended up working with one of the groups. There wasn't really much "meat" in the home school day activity that we participated in either. I found the organized field trip to be quite a bit below my daughter's knowledge and and ability and geared more for a school group in the way they treated the kids.
